The following is a letter from a concerned parent of Perry Township and also the wonderful mother of our two children, and those two are the reasons my wife and I are in this battle and staying to the end.Â
Dear School Board Members, Mr. Nichols, and Mr. Stinson, Superintendent of Decatur Township,
Â
This letter comes to you after citizens were hushed again by our President Susan Adams. The damage that is being done to our township must come to an end! Please read this letter, and know I am not the only concerned parent that expects a change in your leadership! To: Metropolitan School District of Perry Township School Board Members
I am appalled at your behavior from Monday night’s school board meeting. Never in my life have I witnessed four grown women behave like such children. Your decisions for this township have been destructive and have now set MSDPT back several years.
Mrs. Adams, while you were giving your statement, you said, “this is what you asked for isn’t it?” You couldn’t be any more wrong, what we asked for was the truth. What you provided last night was hearsay based on false information and your opinion, all of which defamed Dr. Williams’ name. You did not stop there, you continued to bad mouth every single teacher of MSDPT, whom I have great respect for, you continued to bad mouth every single parent, every single administrator and every single person who voted you in office! How can you sleep at night?
I went through the board minutes Monday night when I returned home from the fiasco and was reminded that Mrs. Walsh made this statement on November 13th when the four of you grossly misused your power. “Mrs. Walsh stated that she along with others had lost confidence in Dr. Williams because he has chosen bullying, criticism, intimidation and threats.” I find it quite embarrassing that we have a Vice President who can make a statement like this and then two months later threaten to slap one of her own board members in the face. Don’t you find that rather odd that you have done the same things you’ve accused Dr. Williams of doing, yet you are still in your position?
Most importantly, I want to thank Mr. Nichols, Mr. Maple, Mrs. Houchin and Mrs. Buffie for staying after to address the questions of concerned citizens of Perry Township. While I believe it was difficult to answer some of our questions, we are grateful because many of our questions were answered in a civil manner. No one was escorted out, our voice was heard and all in all, that is what we wanted.Â
Now the question lies, how can your grave mistakes be corrected? The only answer I have is a resignation from Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Walsh, Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Alexander. If you all truly care about doing something good for the community, you will resign.

Some quick song lyrics to think about:
Oh We’re Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain’t Gonna Take It
oh We’re Not Gonna Take It Anymore
we’ve Got The Right To Choose And
there Ain’t No Way We’ll Lose It
this Is Our Life, This Is Our Song
we’ll Fight The Powers That Be Just
don’t Pick Our Destiny ’cause
you Don’t Know Us, You Don’t Belong
…
oh You’re So Condescending
your Gall Is Never Ending
we Don’t Want Nothin’, Not A Thing From You
your Life Is Trite And Jaded
boring And Confiscated
if That’s Your Best, Your Best Won’t Do
oh…………………
oh…………………
we’re Right/yeah
we’re Free/yeah
we’ll Fight/yeah
you’ll See/yeah
oh We’re Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain’t Gonna Take It
oh We’re Not Gonna Take It Anymore
Rockin’ with Anthony to a little Twisted Sister. Cool

I try to keep up with this websight and all the “happenings” at the school board meetings, but I’m probably missing some of the info. I haven’t attended the past 3 meetings, because it frustrates me greatly to watch 4 of our board members ignore the parents, teachers and community they serve. My services are needed more at home helping my children with homework and preparing for the next school day.
Here is my question and concern that maybe I’ve missed somewhere else. We are over half way finished with his school year. What has our board accomplished for our children? Is this a wasted year for my 3 children enrolled in PT or is our district moving forward to better improve their education? I have a special needs child that will be entering high school next year. I would like to think that the board has her best interests, but I’m doubtful. I know her teachers do, and I believed Dr. Williams did also. I don’t have time to waste.
Yes, it is a wasted year thus far as this board has accomplished nothing positive for this township. I don’t believe that they have the ability. Perception is reality and the perception is that they are simply incompetent.
I’m afraid to inform you, “another concerned mom”, that the board’s priority is not your children’s education, and they don’t care for your special needs child. Their main focus and priority is to drag Dr. Williams through the mud while fulfilling a personal vendetta. Nothing is accomplished at meetings, other than Mrs. Adams taunting and mocking the public, disrespecting her own fellow board members, disrespecting every teacher in MSDPT, and asking security to escort the concerned public out of the auditorium. The board cannot even be civil to one another, much less make plans for the future. They have tediously searched and searched every nook and cranny to find evidence of Dr. Williams’ misconduct. It’s a sad, sad time for Perry schools!
Really Kelly? Then explain why our new interim Superintendent, with the support of the board, has proposed a new JV team for the special needs children in the township?! Because the BOARD DOES CARE! But they can’t show this in the media because it’s positive! Heaven forbid someone do something wonderful for Perry Township and it get noted! And it seems to me the only people getting dragged through the mud, at the hands of the Dr. Williams supporters, is the “gang of 4″. And let’s go into why nothing is accomplished at meetings-given how the last meeting went-how can the meetings go well if everything they do or say is mocked and laughed at?! That is the Take Back Perry Schools Protestors fault! Not the Board Members! Well, maybe Steve Maple and Gayle Houchins have a part in it as they like to incite the public against the board at any given opportunity.
The above statement regarding the JV Team for the special needs children was told to me by a teacher in the township that I am friends with who DOES support the Board. So take it how you want, it could be heresay, but I doubt it.
You know, Kelly M., I just penned a long response to your post, but I erased it all because at this point in this chaos, nothing anyone says will help you see just how wrong you are in this matter. I’m not chastising you at all; I just feel sorry that you choose not to see the picture clearly, that you would accept whatever these women tell you and defend them as you do.
There is no defending the actions of these 4 in any logical way! Too bad!
The statement, “..it could be heresay, but I doubt it,” says volumes about how supporters of the board majority think.
JV Team? What do you mean?
The WSW and TBPS supporters fail to comprehend the plain and simple fact that an insubordinate employee has been suspended with pay pending an investigation into his conduct and management.
Prudent personnel policy would suggest that a competent and effective school board follow certain procedures as are outlined in their manual. Some examples would be: 1) verbal warning 2) written warning containing a specific time frame for corrective action 3) a meeting after said time frame to review and discuss corrective actions taken.
One of the first policies in the school board policies and bylaws state that the superintendent is to uphold and support his board at all times. I think Dr Williams has proven over and over again-with other boards as well-that he does not follow this important policy-let alone does he support parents all the time (this would be the silent majority). That alone should have terminated him on top of all the other “illegal/unethical” practices that have been described to us through the perryinfo website.
