Put Out an APB on the Sign Thieves

Wanted to share with everyone that we’ve received a number of eyewitness reports on one of the sign thieves.

It’s an older lady, estimated to be in her late 50’s or 60’s with gray hair. She’s driving a silver or gray 4-door sedan that’s believed to be a Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis.

In one instance she came to the front door of a house and rang the bell. The kids inside didn’t recognize her and didn’t open the door. They then watched her from the window walk through the front yard and pull their sign out of their yard and leave in her car. In another instance she drove into someone’s yard and took the sign and turned around in the yard and left.

I’ll give credit to whomever this lady is, many of these instances have done in the middle of the afternoon. Police reports have been filed. One of the reports included a license plate number, but I’m not sure if it was for this same car or not.

Everyone be on the lookout in your neighborhoods for a car matching this description driving slowly by some of our orange signs. If you see any suspicious activities, be sure and report it to police. We’ve also been told to report the thefts as thefts and/or vandalism.

Does anyone know of a woman in the community who matches this decription and drives a four doored silver car? A woman who has been visible and vocal in her opposition of Dr. Williams? It seems to me like there are enough matching reports to constitute circumstantial evidence if anyone know of such a woman.

And if someone does know who this woman is in ALL of Perry Township, what are we going to do- stone her? You take the chance when you verbalize against other opinions for someone to disagree in the manner she has. Funny how the older generation has seen this for what it is.

So are you saying that this person in the “older generation” is right for trespassing and theft to remove signs of people that disagree with her viewpoint? From your other comment, maybe she should stop trespassing and stealing signs and spend more time with her grandkids. That’s the kind of example I’d like to see from the older generation, not vandalism and theft.

Not what I said at all, let me try again- when you become verbal in opinionated topics, you open yourself to someone retaliating against you- right or wrong- like you just did to me. This is why you need to understand this when you talk politics or religion with anyone- you open yourself up to actions you don’t agree with.

Where I believe the older generation understands this for what it is comes from the conversations they have had about this topic and I never said stealing was right, did I?

This is exactly why I won’t be back. Not into the belittling that I have seen here. Dr. Williams must be proud of his supporters showing such maturity. I’ve seen more name calling on this site than at any of the elementary playgrounds during recess.

Yes, Perry Parent…Is it right for this woman to leave tire ruts in someone’s yard as she drives through it just because she doesn’t like a sign that is posted in the yard? What if she doesn’t like my window company? Should she steal that sign, too?

When an individual stole Jesus out of my lighted nativity in my front yard, I felt very violated. It belonged to me, and it was my right to display it in my own yard…just as it is my right to display the sign that I bought.

“Perry Parent” asked a question, “If someone does know who this woman is in ALL of Perry Township, what are we going to do - stone her?” My answer - No, but I am sure there are penalties and consequences for trespassing and stealing. How about just having those enforced?

Well, the sign thief hit me last night around 11:45. Mine wasn’t an older lady, but a tall high school aged kid wearing a hooded sweatshirt. I was in my loft and watched him take the sign. The getaway car was light brown. I didn’t get a license plate number as the car rolled away, but I did run down to my car and drive around. I found a car that looked very similar to the one that stole the sign in my neighborhood about a half hour later. I got the license plate number of the car. Funny thing, there was a tall, high school aged boy wearing a hooded sweatshirt in that same light brown car. I got to thinking, this is probably the car that took my sign. So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to have my friend, a police officer, run the license plate and see what address belongs to that car. If my sign returns to its rightful place I don’t file any report. If not, I file a report with the police and all of this information. I think it’s pretty obvious that the person that stole this sign is in my neighborhood frequently…otherwise how would they know I had the sign, so I will have my eyes peeled for this car as well. Again, return the sign and no report, if not, I’m afraid I’ll have to give the police your license plate number. I also know the house that this boy and his girl were parked at, so I will be watching them very closely to. Magnum P.I. is on the case.

Why are all of the orange “Take Back Perry Schools” signs being taken out of yards/properties???

Are Adams, Walsh & Thompson supporters insecure?
    Insecure and immature.

MRS. ADAMS, WALSH & THOMPSON NEED TO COMMUNICATE TO THEIR SUPPORTERS AND THEIR SUPPORTER’S CHILDREN TO STOP THE THIEVERY AND VANDALISM!!!!

Show some class. What are you scared of?!

At about 11:55 Saturday night, a small, dark, older pick-up truck was seen pulling away from my front yard leaving behind around 30 signs planted in the grass. Most were TBPS signs, but others were for sale signs, roofing signs, sports signs that parents bought to support their kids, Roncalli signs….a little bit of everything. We drove around and replaced most of the signs in our neighborhood, but we have 15 or so left. If you lost a sign Saturday night, we will be happy to bring it back to you. Please send a note to signs@takebackperryschools.com and I will get it to you as soon as possible.
