Checking My Facts

Below are the comments I received from “one for the truth” on a post I published on my personal website about my involvement with the things going on in Perry Township. I wanted to share it here and respond to their comment.

Please check your facts. Word around the state with other school boards and education administrators is that it is well known that Williams is dirty and this “leave” is well overdue. Be sure of what you are supporting before you dive in head first. You are not assisting your schools with this chaos and fear-mongering. You are interrupting the educational process. May I remind you that the school board is elected and Dr. Williams is not. It is time for his dictatorship to end in favor of someone who knows how to be politically correct because that is what they actually believe in. Dr. Williams has a long history of ignoring parental concerns, rewarding friends and making inappropriate comments. Shouldn’t someone in his position do a little bit better job of holding his tongue and not bringing his personal life and vendettas to work with him? Perry township deserves better. Hey maybe if he gets hired somewhere else you all can go move to that township? I am not willing to let my kids be sacrificed to his ego and vengeance anymore. How many of you had kids come home from school asking what the vulgar words meant that were spelled out on the school fence? Why do supposed “education supporters” feel that they can publically use words that our children would be suspended from school fo using?

First of all, I have checked my information to the best of my ability with everything going on. Until I receive information that stands in opposition of what I’ve come to understand, I’ll accept what I know as fact. I encourage you, as I have from the beginning, please provide me any information you have that contradicts what I believe. Please give me details of how Dr. Williams is “dirty”.

You say I’m not “assisting” my schools by participating in this chaos and fear-mongering? Please tell me exactly how I’m promoting fear with this website. My objective from day one was to build “An Online Forum for Voices to be Heard and Facts Understood”.

I don’t need to be reminded that the superintendent isn’t elected, but what we all need to be reminded of is that the school board elections are ultimately important for everyone. We all need to vow to ourselves and our children that this is the beginning of all of us being more concerned over our local elections.

I will agree with you, there are times and situations that I have heard and read about where I believe Dr. Williams could have been more politically correct. However, for the most part I don’t appreciate people being politically correct, I’d rather them be honest and up front with their opinions. For me, I’d look for a leader with vision and leadership above political correctness.

You state that Dr. Williams has brought his personal life and personal vendettas to work with him? The only information I’ve ever heard of Dr. Williams personal life has been brought up as accusations from those that are against him. Maybe you should keep your nose out of his personal life, unless you have proof and details of how it’s impacting his ability to lead our township, then, I want to know about it. For me, yet again, I’m asking for information.

You add, “ignoring parental concerns, rewarding friends and making inappropriate comments”. These are all accusations that I’ve heard of from those against Dr. Williams. Again, I’ve actually received more e-mails and communication from people with details of support, encouragement and assistance from Dr. Williams. I’m aware of some of the comments he’s made, but again I’ll remind you of my stance on being “politically correct”.

I’m not aware of the “vulgar” words spelled out on the school fence. Please provide details. I have continually implored all parties involved to remain civil and respectful of each other and all members of the board. I don’t believe this means we need to hold back on our voicing of confusion and frustration with the board. I am upset with those that are in support of Dr. Williams and haven’t exhibited respectful and civil behavior. You’ll be hearing about my efforts on bringing some of this bad behaviour to light in future posts.

lets also remember that one of the four members against Dr Williams was not elected in either. She was appointed by Dr Williams so where is her thanks.
